Organizational Background

Bridge Connect Africa Initiative (BCAI) is a non-profit organization that creatively engages young people towards amplifying and building a voice around women’s rights, adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health and rights, and girl child education in their communities. It believes that women & girls, and young people, with the right skills and knowledge, have the capacity to push for positive and sustainable changes and strengthen conversations around the sustainable development goals 2030 in their communities  
 
BCAI is calling for a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer that will join the team to carry out the following responsibilities:
  1. Provide reliable and effective data collection and analysis, and information management.
  2. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools,  strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills
  3. Experience in strategic planning and performance measurement, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and performance monitoring plans.
  4. Support the management of outsourced research activities including monitoring contract deliverables and timeframes, and overseeing data quality control systems
  5. Prepare scope of work with Human Resources for the recruitment of data collectors, enumerators, and study implementers.
  6. Supervise and train part-time data collectors and enumerators to ensure high-quality data capture.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION NEEDED

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics, or related field. Master’s degree or Bachelor’s plus an advanced certificate in M&E, statistics, or economics preferred.
  2. Minimum of two years of professional experience in a senior M&E position responsible for implementing M&E activities on international development projects.
  3. Experience in strategic planning and performance measurement, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and/or performance monitoring plans.
  4. Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (e.g., qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies from project initiation to closeout stages.
  5. A high level of integrity.
